Hand-painted Russian boxes are famous all over the world and have been the greatest symbol of Russian folk art for centuries. These boxes can be traced back to four Russian painting schools named after the Russian region where they are made: Palekh, Fedoskino, Mstiora and Joluy. The highest quality techniques and materials are used in the production of the boxes. The depictions painted on the boxes are miniatures of landscapes, fairy-tale scenes, icons, etc… Each box is a unique piece and its production is very complicated and takes several days to be made entirely by hand. The perfect definition of the image is achieved with a brush made from a single squirrel hair.
